Miami Heat player fined for "flopping"
You think it's only footballers who are guilty of diving?
Even professional basketball players in the National Basketball League (NBA) are guilty of diving!
Except they don't call it diving, but "flopping".
Miami Heat player, Dwayne Wade was fined US$5,000 (S$6,252) on Monday for flopping after he exaggerated a foul in game two of the currently ongoing NBA finals between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs reported AFP.
Holding the ball near the the sidelines, he flopped after Spurs player Manu Ginobili merely brushed the ball in an attempt to win the ball.
Acting as if he was shot point blank with a shotgun, the 1.9 metre, 100kg player threw his head back and successfully won the foul from the referee.
Miami won the game 98-96 to level the best-of-seven series at one game each.
Game three will be played on Tuesday night in Miami.
