18th Games end, next stop Myanmar
The 18th Asean University Games ended yesterday with the closing ceremony at University Town, at the National University of Singapore.
Indonesian swimmer Triady Fauzy was the star athlete of the Games, winning six gold medals.
Canoeist Mervyn Toh, from the National University of Singapore, was the hosts' leading light, winning five golds (K1 500m, K4 500m, K1 200m, K2 200m and K4 200m).
Thailand finished top of the medal standings with 52 gold, 34 silver and 35 bronze medals.
Indonesia were second (33 golds), followed by Malaysia (27) and Singapore finished fifth with 24 gold, 19 silver and 30 bronze medals. The next Games will be held in Myanmar in 2018.
