Pedal for a good cause

OCBC Cycle Singapore participants can pedal for charity and win prizes with the newly-launched Berocca Challenge.

Named after the event's official performance supplement, the challenge, which will be split into corporate, club and open categories, will see teams of four race against others on cycling simulators in the lead-up to the final at the F1 Pit Building on March 28, when the 2014 OCBC Cycle Singapore kicks off.

The qualifying stages and semi-finals will be held at Athlete Lab, which is located along Amoy Street.

The grand prize winners from each category will win trips to Australia, where they will ride at the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling, which will be led by cycling legend Robbie McEwen.

To participate, OCBC Cycle Singapore participants must register at the event's website and make a minimum donation of $200 to one of the event's four official charities.

Chris Robb, managing director of OCBC Cycle Singapore organisers Spectrum Worldwide, said: "We know that there are more and more corporates and Singaporeans who are starting to cycle... so we thought it would be a fun way to do something different.

"It is a nice opportunity to raise money for charity and to create another fun activity on a Friday night."
