Enchanted Mister a Berry good mount
Team UK's Fran Berry has another top ride, Dream Big, in the four-race and four-team International Jockeys Challenge at Kranji tonight
Enchanted Mister has been enchanting since joining Australian Hall of Fame trainer Lee Freedman, and he makes a top ride for Fran Berry of Team UK in the third leg of the four-race and four-team Premier Gateway International Jockeys Challenge at Kranji tonight.
Freedman, who took over the training of the horse a few months back from Ricardo Le Grange, has sent the four-year-old Argentinian-bred out twice for a win and a second placing.
Possessing abundant speed, Enchanted Mister is expected to rocket to the front in a race devoid of pace and try to make every post a winning one in the $80,000 Kranji Stakes C (1) event over 1,200m on turf.
The brown gelding led all the way with boom Hong Kong apprentice Matthew Poon astride over the Polytrack 1,200m on July 27 in Class 3.
Three weeks later, he beat all but Super Power in another Class 3 Poly 1,200m event, going down by 11/2 lengths with Michael Rodd aboard.
True, Enchanted Mister is again meeting Super Power, the mount of Vlad Duric of Team Asia, but he can turn the tables with a couple of disadvantages for his conqueror.
Super Power not only will be carrying 1.5 more than Enchanted Mister, but is also facing that dreaded second-run syndrome, which has claimed a large chunk of casualties.
Muzi Yeni of Team South Africa can provide the spoils on back-in-form Moritz Eclipse, who finished second last time out to his promising stablemate Lim's Lightning.
Berry also has a top chance in the first leg of the challenge aboard the Michael Clements-trained Dream Big in the Kranji Stakes D event over 1,800m. The 2,000m winner ran a good third last time out.
Besides Berry, Team UK will be represented by Robert Havlin and Hayley Turner, the only female rider in the challenge.
Former Singapore and Hong Kong champion but now Japan-based Joao Moreira and top Malaysian rider Benny Woodworth join Duric in Team Asia.
Joining Yeni in the South Africa Team are Lyle Hewitson and Aldo Domeyer.
Team Australia are Hugh Bowman, Kerrin McEvoy and Mark Zahra.
Kranji's International Jockeys Challenge will be decided on a points system.
Points will be awarded to each jockey based on his finishing position in each race up to 10th place, while points will also be aggregated per team.
The winner will be awarded 30 points, followed by second (15), third (12), fourth (10), fifth (8), sixth (7), seventh (6), eighth (5), ninth (4) and 10th (3).
