Several firsts for SEA Games opening ceremony
Organisers of the South-east Asia (SEA) Games in Singapore in June have promised an opening ceremony that features several firsts.
Helmed by creative director Beatrice Chia-Richmond and the Singapore Armed Forces' artillery formation, the opening ceremony on June 5 at the National Stadium will feature an audience interaction system where spectators will be given a medallion to wear, to collectively form a giant LED screen.
Some 5,000 volunteers from at least 15 organisations and 3,500 soldiers will be involved.
Chia-Richmond and the SAF will similarly helm the closing ceremony on June 16.
Tickets for the opening ceremony costs between $12 and $60, and between $12 and $40, with discounts available for bulk purchases, students, senior citizens and full-time national servicemen.
