This bizarre goal celebration might get your goat
The Year of the Goat might have just trotted in, but one Bundesliga striker nearly went too far with his kidding around.
German club Cologne's Anthony Ujah nearly injured a goat while celebrating his goal on Sunday.
And it wasn’t just any goat, it was the club mascot Hennes, named after the club’s former player and coach Hennes Weisweiler.
After scoring the club’s fourth goal in a 4-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday and helping them rise to 11th in the 18-team table, Ujah had ran to Hennes’ spot along the touchline to celebrate.
The joy in knowing that he had secured Cologne’s first home win since last October overcame Ujah, who pulled Hennes’ horns forcefully and appeared to be trying to mount the animal.
The 24-year-old Nigerian later posted a picture of his bizarre celebration on Instagram with an apology to his hoofed friend.
Fortunately, Hennes is said to be in good condition despite the shock.
