13: Republic Polytechnic was established 13 years ago in 2002 and took in its first batch of students at its former campus in Tanglin.
Today, the fifth polytechnic in Singapore located in Woodlands has over 14,000 students and offers 41 diplomas.
Celebrating its 13th anniversary this year, RP looks forward to more good years and is also supporting its alumni athletes, such as sprinter Muhammad Naqib, basketballer Wu Qing De, table tennis player Isabelle Li and floorballer Jay Pal Singh and the rest of the Team Singapore contingent at the 28th SEA Games. Go for Gold!

13: Team Singapore have never won a sepak takraw gold at the SEA Games.
Since their first medal - a bronze in Bangkok 1967 - the sepak takraw national team have bagged four silvers and 17 bronzes.
Recent Games outings have been far from stellar.
However, with 13 gold medals on offer from as many events next month, the sepak takraw boys will be hoping to break the duck on home ground.
