Mixed day for S'pore's squash teams
Singapore's men's squash team got off to a winning start at the Kallang Squash Centre with a 3-0 victory over Myanmar yesterday.
The trio of Samuel Kang, Phua and Vivian Rhamanan convincingly beat their respective opponents three sets to nil to claim top spot in Pool B.
Meanwhile, Malaysia defeated the Philippines, Indonesia downed Myanmar, and Philippines beat Thailand, all by 3-0 scorelines.
Singapore's team, however, had a disappointing outing, with Joannah Yue (3-1), Nur Adawiyah Abdul Aziz (3-2) and Mao Shi Yuan (3-2) all succumbing to their Indonesian rivals to lose 3-0.
In the other women's fixtures, Malaysia beat Thailand 3-0 in the morning before the Thais recovered to beat Myanmar 3-0 at night.
