Ten-man Greece hold Japan to a goalless draw
Eleven shots on target, 68 per cent of the possession and with an extra man for most of the match.
Every statistic favoured the Japanese
Yet Japan still drew with Greece in Friday morning's (June 20) Group C clash.
Both sides were looking to get their campaigns back on track after losing their opening encounters but a spanner was thrown in Greece's plans when their captain Kostas Katsouranis was sent off in the the first half after two yellow card offences.
While Japan stayed true to their attacking style, they were unable to breach the Greek defence who hassled and harried the Japanese to stay level in the game.
Japan will now have to beat Colombia in their final match on June 25 to stand any chance of progressing to the next round.
