VIDEO: The very best of the World Cup in 4 minutes

So it's all done and dusted.

The Germans have the honour of being football's world champions (well, for the next four years).

The World Cup 2014 produced an average of 2.7 goals per match, which is 0.2 goals higher than the 2010 tournament.

Away from the cold statistics though, this year's tournament has been generally acknowledged as being one of the best.

ESPN's montage of the tournament perfectly captures the spirit of the tournament.

We don't know how they squeezed 64 matches into four minutes but they did and it was fantastic.

Only four more years till the next World Cup.
