RACE 1 (1,200M)

FLYING KEEPER (10) still hasn't gotten his timing right but has finished up willingly for seconds in his past two Valley sprints, including a head second over this trip. He'll be hard out of the finish.

JUST MISTERE (4) wasn't suited by the pace last time out but had worked home nicely in two prior 1,200m starts on both surfaces. He's got the pedigree to handle the tighter Valley course and can get on track.

NOVEL START (5) had been knocking on the door in two prior C&D runs for a front-running second and third. Another tough gate but he can't be ignored.

RACE 2 (1,800M)

HUMONGUS (9) delivered an early season victory over this C&D and has been threatening to return to the winner's circle in his past three at the Valley, including a fast-finishing mile fourth earlier this month. He's an each-way chance.

STARLIT WARRIOR (11) came up flat in a recent failure but had given a good sight in two prior 1,800m runs, including a rallying third on this track. He merits consideration.

MIZZEN GREY (1) hasn't enjoyed the best of runs in two recent outings over this Valley trip, including a third two back when having to circle the field, at the 800m on the back of a muddling pace. He needs to be kept safe.

RACE 3 (1,000M)

CALL ME ACHIEVER (5) has been a bridesmaid three times over this C&D this season, including two close efforts recently, despite a hard run, and the class dropper General Iron. He must have claims.

GENTILIS (3) backed up a creditable debut fifth over the straight 1,000m with a handily ridden C&D third, following a deep run with cover from a wide gate. He's one of the chances.

SEASONS STAR (1) does know his way around this course and doesn't appear from his past two starts over the straight 1,000m to be far off a winning run, including a head second.

RACE 4 (1,200M)

FIRE STARTER (4) wasn't up to the challenge two back in the Griffin Trophy after opening with back-to-back wins. Did handle a move to the Valley last start for a trip second. He's ready to erase his maiden status.

FRIENDS OF YAN OI (11) has turned the corner with an overdue win two back in Class 5 over this C&D and was getting going nicely off a light weight at this level last Wednesday for a close third. He'll make it interesting.

KEY WITNESS (5) was beaten with market action but still did stay on all right in a debut fifth over the 1,200m at Sha Tin. He merits attention.

RACE 5 (1,650M)

STEP HIGH'S (2) latest of three straight victories over this C&D did appear his easiest when powering clear at the 250m and does strike another winnable race.

AMBITIOUS TREASURE (10) has been capable at this level and has made a sound impression in his past two mile starts for a close second at Sha Tin, before dashing clear for a Valley win. He'll go close.

OWNERS' GLORY (11) hasn't won in some time but has been in the thick of the finish in his three starts at the Valley this season, including a recent fourth over 1,800m. He must be kept safe.

RACE 6 (1,200M)

YOU READ MY MIND (7) resumed a winner over the 1,000m at this course and may have prevailed if holding a straight line in a recent front-running second over the 1,200m at Sha Tin. He can figure.

HIGHEST ACCLAIM (3) has come into his own this season to win two of his opening three, including a narrow C&D success and has run well for fifth in his past two Valley sprints. He moved well to win a recent dirt trial following a deserving break.

GETAWAY GUY (4) hasn't enjoyed any favours from outside alleys in his past two starts over this C&D, but still has stayed on fifth best both times. Chance, despite an unfavourable pace.

RACE 7 (1,650M)

JAZZY FEELING (4) had been knocking on the door in three of his opening four and finished nicely to miss by a short-head in a recent second over the mile. He can win with a weight swing in his favour.

ENTHUSIASM (1) made good, despite returning from a heart irregularity. He'll need to carry weight for this run but remains one of the chances.

CALLING WITH LOVE (6) was classy enough to overcome a deep run in midfield for a Class 4 win at this course two back and caught the eye when third over 1,400m at this level.

RACE 8 (1,800M)

JOLLY VICTOR (9) finished reasonably well in a recent mile fourth at this level and does seem to go best over the 1,800m. He's an each-way chance.

SUNNY YING (3) was a placegetter in a recent Sha Tin run, following a comfortable pillar-to-post win over this C&D in December. He has scored when patiently ridden from a wide alley.

LUCKY FOREVER (1) continued his fine form over this C&D when flattening late after rolling forward out wide to lead at the 1,100m in a recent third. He does handle weight and remains one for the short list.
