Chelsea are closing in on Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Alex Teixeira, according to reports.

The Blues have been linked with the Brazilian since last summer and appear to be closing in on a January deal.

Spanish publication Fichajes claims the Blues' hopes of signing Teixeira have been boosted by the 25-year-old's relationship with Chelsea stars Willian and Oscar.

Willian and Teixeira enjoyed successful spells together at Shakhtar and are reportedly keen on rekindling that relationship at Stamford Bridge.
