WWE star Daniel Bryan puts burglar in chokehold
His WWE skills came into play at the right time.
Former heavyweight champ, who is commonly known as Daniel Bryan in the wrestling community, took down a burglar in typical WWE style after he spotted two fleeing criminals run out of his home's rear door.
Bryan, whose real name is Bryan Danielson, caught one of the burglars and put him a "rear naked chokehold" until the police arrived late on Thursday (July 24), Mirror Online reported.
The second suspect got away.
The 33-year-old former wrestling champ, who stands at 1.77m tall and weighs 95.2kg, had moved into his new home just 10 days earlier and was most concerned for his two-year-old French bulldog, Josie, when he realised that his home was intruded.
The apprehended suspect was later identified as Cesar Sosa, 22.
Danielson, who turned up with his wife Brie and dog Josie to a press conference, joked that the burglar was lucky that Brie didn't catch him because she would have done more damage.
He said it was an easy take-down: "He was very, very tired and it literally took zero effort to take him down...he put up very little resistance."
But even WWE champs feel bad. Danielson added that he felt "borderline ashamed" for taking matters into his own hands, and was glad that nothing bad happened.
