The Gallows Fan Art Jam has a winner
Congratulations, Mr Ricky Ong.
The game artist is the winner of The Gallows Fan Art Jam conducted by M last month.
His winning work was chosen by directors Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing.
The horror flick — now showing in cinemas and starring Reese Mishler, Pfeifer Brown, and Ryan Shoos — follows a group of high school students whose plan to revive a production called The Gallows went horrifically wrong.
Mr Ong was pleasantly surprised to learn he was the top prize winner.
Professing to be a huge horror fan, he shared with M that inspiration for the drawing hit him one night while he was walking home.
"I thought that by not showing the face and the rest of the gallows would gave it a more scary look," said the 29-year-old, who's currently creating artworks for a SG50 game named Kancheong Kopitiam Saga.
Mr Ong, who enjoys translating what he reads into drawings or paintings, said his Gallows poster took him three hours to complete.
"I hope to take part in more such art jams," he said.
Mr Ong takes home an autographed The Gallows movie poster, a Pioneer X-HM21V-S DVD receiver system for iPod/iPhone/iPad, and a pair of tickets to the “SCREAM FEST: The Haunted Toy Factory @J Cube” Halloween event.
Three cheers are also in order for runner-ups Mr Jason Chong and Mr Lim Hang Kwong. Both also win tickets to the “SCREAM FEST: The Haunted Toy Factory @J Cube” Halloween event plus The Gallows movie premiums.
