Missing 13-year-old girl last seen at Vivocity on Sept 28 found

She left home to meet her friends at around 3pm two days ago.

A 13-year-old girl who went missing has been found, police said on Sept 30.

It is not known where or how she was found.

The mother of Sofea Adrianna, who went missing after meeting friends at VivoCity on Sept 28, took to Facebook on Sept 29 to appeal for help.

Siti Nadiya wrote: "No mother is ever prepared for this pain. I never imagined this would happen to our family."

Had planned to leave VivoCity by 5pm

According to Siti, Sofea left home around 3pm to meet her friends at VivoCity to pass them some unwanted plush toys. Her last recorded EZ-Link transaction was at HarbourFront MRT around 4pm.

Her friends told the family that Sofea had planned to leave by 5pm to avoid being late, as her curfew was 8pm.

Siti said all of Sofea's friends were home by 7pm, but Sofea was still unaccounted for. Her EZ-Link card also showed no further activity.

They waited until 9pm, hoping she would walk through the door. Sofea's father then started searching from VivoCity to Sentosa and all the way to East Coast Park, but to no avail.

Around 10pm, her friends tried calling her but could not get through. They later discovered they had been blocked, and her phone's location appeared to be switched off, said Siti in her post.

By midnight, with still no news, her parents filed a missing person report.

Favourite belongings still at home

In her post, Siti said she does not believe her daughter left home on purpose, noting that all her essentials - including her power bank, favourite hoodie, and personal items - were still at home.

She also noted that it was unusual for her daughter to refuse to answer any calls or messages from her father.

"What breaks my heart even more is that her last meal was only late breakfast," she said, adding that Sofea had agreed to return home early as her father was buying her dinner.

"She might be out there in a state of helplessness, and every second counts," she said. "Help us bring her home."

Some netizens urged her to contact hospitals, while others who live or work near VivoCity said they would keep a lookout. Many also expressed hope that Sofea would be found safe.

The police had appealed to the public for information on Sofea's whereabouts.

The New Paper has reached out to Siti for more information.
